The Association is affiliated to All India Reserve Bank Retired Employees’ Association (AIRBREA) headquartered in Mumbai. Most of our members are life members which covers the life span of both self and their spouse.
Besides Annual General Meetings the Association is involved in multifaceted activities although, Issues relating to pension, medical and other facilities are of prime importance. We have set up a Help Desk at the Kochi Office to assist retirees on these issues. The help desk also assists pensioners in filing of their IT returns and sorting out issues relating to Third Party Administrators (TPAs)/ Insurance companies, etc.
During the last few years, RBREA, Kochi could arrange various tours and picnics (including cruises) to nearby tourist spots. Athirappilly, Vazhachal, Malayattur, Bhuthathankettu, Muziris (Kodungalloor), Njarackal Fishing farm, Cherai beach, Cochin Back waters, Wayanad, Coorg, Gavi, Wagamon, Idikki dam and Munnar are some of the places visited by us. A visit to Lakshadeep (by ship) and an eleven days overseas trip to holy land rekindled the warmth of friendship amongst the past colleagues and their families. The Association’s regularly held Family get-togethers were members exhibited camaraderie. Further, the office bearers did not miss any opportunity to meet and facilitate our senior octogenarians in their homes.
Our journal "Prathyasa", started in April 2007 single-handedly by Shri KGK Pillai, to share pension-related information became an official journal of RBREA, Kochi in 2010. The house journal is now a 24 page printed journal containing comments and views on developments in RBI, banking system and at national level which are of interest to our members.

The Prathyasa Retirement Home project, conceived during the decennial year of the Association in 2015 as our unique signature project, materialised in 2019. Shri R Gandhi, the then Deputy Governor of RBI, laid the Foundation stone of this dream project in a Family Get Together held on February 13, 2016. A special issue of the Prathyasa was brought out in January 2016 as a souvenir to commemorate the Decennial Celebrations and the foundation stone laying ceremony of the signature project. The fully complete building was inaugurated by Shri N S Vishwanathan, the then Deputy Governor of RBI, during our 2019 Family Get Together function. The retirement home has since been renamed as River Bank Residency.
